Group Senior Buyer

Group Senior Buyer

The Position:

Reporting to the Group Procurement & Corporate Governance Director & Company Secretary, you will be responsible and accountable for the following:

· Negotiating favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of various categories of non-commercial goods, services and fixed assets

·  Acquiring and maintaining the understanding of market and cost trends

·  Building relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business models and desired outcomes

· Utilizing advanced market knowledge to implement effective negotiation strategies; directing and coordinating execution of strategic contract negotiations, while counseling and supporting relevant company’s stakeholders

·  Providing purchasing reporting and market trend analysis

· Designing and executing strategy for contract negotiations including, but not limited to acquisitions, maintenance renewals, strategic cost optimization and terms/conditions improvements/standardizations

·  Applying purchasing procedures and policies and recommending improvements.

·  Reviewing purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy, discussing defects and delivery/performance problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds

·  Actively participating within a Cross Functional team to understand business requirements and execute based on procurement process

·  Must identifying and delivering on specific savings objectives and other annual objectives as defined

·  Independently developing and executing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and/or Requests for Information (RFIs) based on identified business needs, market conditions and corporate standards

·   Maintaining and harnessing new supplier relationship through frequent communication, sharing supplier scorecards, in-person visits etc.

·   Proactively engaging with departments to identify upcoming needs to maintain the procurement pipeline

·   Reviewing accuracy of purchase requisitions and leveraging new automation/workflow tools

·   Pursuing opportunities to command more favorable terms, smarter spend and more value-add

·   Creating & maintaining vendor related KPIs/metrics for incorporation into management reporting

 

Qualifications & Competencies required:

·       Bachelor's Degree preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

·       At least 7 years of experience preferably in the Finance Function

·       Strong customer focus

·       Good planning, organizing and priority setting skills

·       Analytical thinking, problem solving & critical thinking skills

·       Drive for results

·       Good communication and interpersonal skills

·       Teamwork

·       Excellent command of the Greek and English language, both written and verbal

·       Ability to collaborate with internal and external clients.

·       Ability to manage large volumes of quantitative data in a timely manner

·       Adaptability in changes

·       Good knowledge of MS Office and especially MS Word, Excel, and digital skills

 

Qualifications considered as an asset:

·       Working experience in a similar role

·       Good negotiation skills

·       Good knowledge of SAP platform
